My Story

The Mizen Foundation was founded in 2008 after 16-year-old Jimmy Mizen was tragically murdered in an unprovoked attack. In the wake of their devastating loss, the Mizen family created the charity to ensure something positive came from Jimmy’s death. The foundation is dedicated to empowering young people to become champions of change through Jimmy's lasting message of forgiveness, peace, and hope.

Walking For Jimmy was launched in 2013 to commemorate what would have been Jimmy’s 21st birthday. Now in its 11th year, this 24-mile challenge begins in Richmond and ends at the iconic Tower Bridge, crossing 21 bridges along the way.

The event raises vital funds to support our work empowering young people to thrive as peacemakers and changemakers, creating safer and stronger communities.
